Umpire Training.JPG

Before the season gets underway, we wanted to send you a note about available trainings that are happening within the next 2 months. We want to make sure that you attend at least one of the mechanics clinics before we get you on the field calling balls and strikes. As well, you are required to attend the rules clinic that is hosted by District 44. Below is a description of each clinic available locally:

  •  2018 NorCal Section 5 Umpire Mechanics Clinic
This clinic is a Western Region Outreach Clinic. That means there will be instructors that teach down at the weeklong school in San Bernardino along with other Western Region Instructors from around the region. This is the best clinic locally as it is held at Rolling Hills Middle School in Los Gatos (1585 More Avenue). This is a 2 day clinic over the weekend of February 17th and 18th. Instruction will take place between 8:00am-5:30pm on Saturday and 8:30am - 3:00pm on Sunday. If you want to attend this training, please register here, when registering, you can place Cody's name in the more info/notes section when registering if you are under 16. The only ask is you take the training seriously as this is a FREE clinic and everyone working it are volunteering their time. No goofing around please.

  • District 44 Rules Clinic - Friday, March 2, 6:30 pm - Location TBA
Mark Teagle (44's UIC) will give a presentation on the rulebook and dive into some of the more trickier rules with Little League. This clinic is mandatory for those umpires under 3 years and HIGHLY recommended for those coming back to Sunnyvale Little League. Why? Because every year Little League updates the rule book, and it is important for umpires to stay up to date

  • District 44 Mechanics Clinic - Saturday, March 3, 8:30 am - Wilson Park
Hosted by Cupertino Little League, Mark Teagle (44's UIC) and the rest of the District Red Shirt Umpire staff will be offering training for those umpires that are looking to know where to go with runners on base. Corner of Rodrigues Ave. and Parkside Ln., Cupertino Field mechanics for base and plate umpires.
